Nueve direcciones de Madrid que encantarán a los más pequeños de la casa

Hay quien es un firme defensor de los menús infantiles (conozco a algún adulto que es fan de estas propuestas). Y no digo que no sean prácticos: te dan la selección ya hecha y suelen ser alimentos que gustan a los niños lo cual evita discusión con los padres (otra cosa es que sean saludables pero esa es otra discusión)….

Pero, sinceramente, prefiero que a los niños de determinada edad se les presenten las mismas opciones gastronómicas que a los adultos: el paladar se educa desde pequeños y si solo les damos pasta y salchichas.. luego no nos podemos quejar de que comen fatal. Y no digo ser extremista y dar al niño garbanzos en el desayuno pero, entre cebarlo a tomar galletas con Nocilla y ser un talibán de los procesados, hay un trecho.. y en ese trecho debiéramos intentar que comiesen de todo.

Es de agradecer que haya lecturas que recomienden opciones para nuestros enanos/as alejadas de las franquicias americanas y del susodicho menú infantil. Opciones que pueden verse como arriesgadas pero que sin duda son un desafío para las papilas. Y alguna de ellas las encontramos en la Guía Infantil de Madrid que acaba de publicarse de la mano de Toromítico, Editorial Almuzara.

La autora, Lucía Martín, periodista y colaboradora de esta casa, propone, aparte de propuestas de ocio poco conocidas, un capítulo dedicado a la gastronomía en la capital. En ese capítulo se desgranan algunos de los platos típicos de Madrid, como el cocido y las gallinejas y también se habla del origen de los barquillos y de las rosquillas de San Isidro. Porque la gastronomía es sin duda, cultura.

¿Y qué alternativas nos propone para los más pequeños/as? Pues locales para desayunar, comer, merendar y cenar, muchos fuera de la almendra central porque hay que reivindicar que Madrid no es solo lo que hay dentro de la M-30.

Por ejemplo, si hablamos de desayunos y meriendas, un clásico de Madrid son los churros y las porras, con gran tradición en la ciudad. No hay barrio que no cuente con churrería, la mayoría de gran calidad. Entre las recomendaciones de la guía aparecen muchos locales de barrio, como la churrería Las Farolas, en el barrio de La Concepción (tienen un chocolate que está de infarto). Al otro lado de Madrid, en la calle Embajadores 74, también merecen mucho la pena los churros y las porras de Fórmula Nieto’s.  Dos lugares que no están en el centro y que merecen una visita.

Para otros dulces, la autora nos recomienda la palmera de chocolate de la pastelería Madreamiga, hecha con chocolate con crema, crema de Gianduja y chocolate blanco entre otros ingredientes. En las pastelerías Mallorca nos aconseja probar los croissants, la sakuskina (es una rosquilla frita), las napolitanas… Uno de sus dulces que solo tienen para Halloween es el Pan de Muerto, un dulce mexicano que está que te mueres (nunca mejor dicho).  También hay que probar sus torrijas en Semana Santa.

En cuanto a la comida, ¿te has planteado darle a probar a tu peque ¿huevos de avestruz y de emú? ¿o unos fingers de carne de cocodrilo? En un pequeño bar del barrio de Vallecas, el Macarena, podrás probar carnes exóticas (gacela, impala, antílope, búfalo) y enterarte de que un huevo de avestruz equivale a unos 20- 24 de gallina. Con un huevo, comen cuatro personas. 

Otra dirección original sobre todo para que os sintáis como si estuvieses dentro del circo: hay una mesa incluso en la que puedes comer sentado en un columpio y otra en la que una jirafa te mira desde la ventaja. La Morenilla es un sitio lleno de fantasía a disfrutar en familia.

¿Te gusta el sushi? ¿La comida japonesa en general? Kintaro fue uno de los primeros de la capital en tener barra móvil (esos en los que la comida va pasando en barras al lado de la mesa y tú coges lo que más te gusta). Se come muy bien, es económico y el lugar es muy colorido, con peces colgando del techo.

Si quieres merendar en un sitio de ensueño, que parece el escenario de un cuento mágico y con una vajilla de lo más chula, tienes que ir con tu familia y amigos a Bloom: sus tartas caseras están exquisitas, pero también tienen gofres, muchos helados, brownie… Y para las mejores tortitas de la capital (ojo, que quizás no te las acabes porque son enormes), las de la hamburguesería americana Kricky Pelton: la masa está espectacular y te las sirven con Nutella e incluso con huevo Kinder.
